Refund policy

ByteSim: Full or partial refund for connection issues, depending on the situation; no cancellation fees and a money-back guarantee (ByteSIM FAQ). Full terms are on their Refunds Policy page.

Telekonek: Refunds/replacement only for a technical problem on Telekonek's side that prevents the eSIM from installing or working — not for unused-but-working eSIMs, wrong country/region, carrier-locked devices, changed travel plans, or voice/SMS expectations (data-only plans). Requests must be made within 5 days of purchase; approved refunds return to the original payment method in 3-5 business days.

Validity starts

ByteSim: Most plans start when the eSIM first connects to a network at the destination; some start on a selected date, in the app or (e.g. the Giffgaff UK eSIM) from purchase, as stated on the product page. Installing early usually does not start the plan; some QR codes must be used within 180 days.

Telekonek: Activation is instant once you scan the QR code, but the plan's own validity/day countdown begins when the eSIM connects to a live network at your destination, not at the moment of purchase.

Fair-use limit

ByteSim: Unlimited plans may be subject to a local operator fair-use policy: heavy use in a short period can be temporarily slowed or deprioritised (1080p streaming still possible), lifted the following day. The per-plan speed policy is stated on each product page.

Telekonek: On metered (fixed-GB) plans, speed throttles to 1 Mbps after 3000MB is used in a day (2000MB/day on the North America bundle), resetting daily. Unlimited plans have their own daily high-speed cap shown per plan, commonly 2GB/day.

Top-ups & rollover

ByteSim: No top-ups or extensions: data on an existing eSIM cannot be renewed; buy a new eSIM when you need more (ByteSIM FAQ: not supported due to the anonymous nature of their eSIM products).

Telekonek: Existing Telekonek eSIMs can be topped up from your dashboard (or the order-hash link in guest-checkout confirmation emails) without rescanning a QR code — the new plan attaches to the same eSIM. Top-ups are region-locked to their destinations.
