Turkey eSIM Guide: Data, Coverage, and What to Expect

Istanbul airport wifi is not enough, and neither is assuming your home carrier's roaming rates are reasonable — they almost never are. I checked live pricing from six well-known providers among the 124 we track for Turkey, and found one of the widest single-day price gaps of any country we've compared: a genuine unlimited plan for a single day around $3.49, next to a full month that can cost anywhere from $49.99 to $59.99 depending who you pick.

The quick answer

  • Cheapest unlimited data for a full month: Maya Mobile's flat rate at $49.99 is normally the lowest — Maya sells the same rate everywhere it operates, sometimes through a Turkey-specific plan and sometimes folded into their Global multi-country plan, so double-check the live table if that number looks off. Next is Ubigi at $64.00, then GigSky (currently unavailable), Airalo ($69.00), and Saily ($59.99).
  • Best single-day option: GigSky's Unlimited 1-day plan at $3.49 — genuinely unusual among these six, ideal for an Istanbul layover or a short business trip. Ubigi has a similar 1-day unlimited option at $5.00, a close second.
  • Cheapest entry point among these six: GigSky's 1GB/7-day plan at $2.99. The live table below includes every provider we track, and the absolute cheapest tier can run lower still — worth checking if you just need a small top-up.
  • Notable standout: these two real 1-day unlimited plans (GigSky and Ubigi) — most providers don't price single days at all, let alone this cheaply.

What you'll actually pay: six providers compared

Airalo

Airalo has the deepest lineup of the six for Turkey, with tiers at 3, 5, 7, 10, 15, and 30 days. Fixed data runs from 1GB/3-days at $4.00 up through 50GB/30-days at $34.50 — genuinely cheap for that much data, with a 3GB/7-day option at $6.50 and 10GB/7-days at $14.50 in between. Unlimited tiers start at $11.50 for 3 days and reach $69.00 for a full month.

GigSky

GigSky's real standout for Turkey is its 1-day unlimited plan at $3.49 — the cheapest single-day option we found among these six. Its 1GB/7-day fixed tier at $2.99 is the cheapest entry point on this list too. Beyond that, 5GB/30-days runs $9.29, 10GB/30-days is $9.79, and its 30-day unlimited at currently unavailable sits in the middle of the pack for a full month. Real discount code active:

Nomad eSIM

Nomad eSIM's Turkey lineup has a gap most other countries don't: no 3-day or 7-day unlimited tier, just 5-day ($17.00) and 10-day ($28.00). Its fixed 30-day tiers fill in the rest well: 20GB at $20.00, 10GB at $13.00, 5GB at $9.00, 3GB at $6.00 — some of the cheapest fixed pricing among the six. Real discount code active:

Saily

Saily's 1GB/7-day plan at $3.99 is a close second for cheapest entry point among these six. Its unlimited range runs from $18.99 (5 days) to $59.99 (30 days), and the fixed 30-day tiers are solid: 20GB at $22.99, 10GB at $15.99, 5GB at $9.99. Real discount code active:

Ubigi

Ubigi's headline feature for Turkey is a genuinely rare one: a 1-day unlimited plan for $5.00 — a close second to GigSky's, and still far rarer than most providers, which don't price single days at all. Beyond that, 10GB for 7 days is $11.00, its 8-day unlimited at $49.00 and 25GB/30-day fixed tier at $25.00 are both competitively priced, and its 30-day unlimited at $64.00 is the second-cheapest full-month option among the six, behind Maya Mobile. Maya Mobile

Maya's flat rate — normally $9.99 for 3 days, $19.99 for 7 days, $27.99 for 14 days, $49.99 for 30 days — is usually the cheapest option for a full month by a solid margin. Maya charges the same rate everywhere it operates, sometimes through a country-specific plan and sometimes through their Global multi-country plan, so it's worth checking the live table if any of these show as unavailable. Why the prices are all over the place

Maya sells unlimited-only and charges the same flat rate everywhere it operates, rather than pricing Turkey as its own market. Airalo, GigSky, Nomad eSIM, Saily, and Ubigi all mix fixed-data tiers with unlimited, which is where a lot of the real value sits if you don't specifically need unlimited.

GigSky and Ubigi's real 1-day unlimited plans are the real story here, though — most providers don't bother pricing single days at all, since most trips run at least three days. If you specifically need one day of coverage (a long layover, a same-day business trip to Istanbul), it's worth checking whether your destination has an equivalent before defaulting to a 3-day plan you won't fully use.

My honest take: Turkey's coverage is strong enough in the places most visitors actually go that fixed-data plans in the 10-20GB range comfortably cover a week or two of maps, messaging, and social media for most travelers — you don't need unlimited unless you're planning to stream or hotspot heavily. Our data usage guide walks through how to estimate your own usage.

How to pick based on your trip

  • A single day (layover or day trip): GigSky's Unlimited 1-day plan at $3.49 is the cheapest we found; Ubigi's equivalent at $5.00 is a close second.
  • A short trip (around 3 days): Maya Mobile's 3-day flat rate at $9.99 is usually the cheapest unlimited option; Airalo's Unlimited 3-day at $11.50 and GigSky's ($10.49) are solid alternatives, or Airalo's own 1GB/3-day fixed tier at $4.00 if you don't need unlimited.
  • About a week: Ubigi's 8-day unlimited at $49.00 is the cheapest way to cover roughly a week, just ahead of Airalo's 7-day ($24.50).
  • Two weeks: Ubigi's 15-day unlimited at $37.00 beats Airalo ($39.00) and is well ahead of Saily ($48.99).
  • A full month, fixed data is enough: Nomad eSIM's 20GB/30-day plan at $20.00 is the best value among the fixed 20GB tiers.
  • A full month, you want unlimited: Maya Mobile at $49.99 is normally cheapest, ahead of Ubigi ($64.00), GigSky (currently unavailable), Airalo ($69.00), and Saily ($59.99).

A few things worth knowing before you buy

Turkey has strong 4G coverage across major cities and tourist routes, with 5G rolling out in Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir. Coastal resort towns — Antalya, Bodrum, Marmaris — have solid coverage right up to most beaches. Coverage thins out in remote inland and mountain areas, which is normal for most countries and not specific to any one eSIM provider.

Install before you fly. Every provider here lets you activate the eSIM only once you land, so there's no need to hunt for airport wifi on arrival at Istanbul.

Check your phone is eSIM-compatible and carrier-unlocked first — our compatibility guide takes about a minute; if it isn't, that's the more common reason travelers end up carrying a physical SIM as backup, not anything to do with coverage from the providers above.
